January 2012 Meeting

This first meeting to kick off the new
year was a potluck at the Clay Art
Center.  We enjoyed many diverse
dishes and a chance to catch up after
the holidays.

We also each contributed our talents
to help with the CAC's Empty Bowls
fundraiser at the end of the month.
Over two dozen bowls were donated
and made by HRP members!

Missed our March meeting?

Connie Sherman discussed cone 6
and cone 10 glazing issues and
solutions.  She very generously
provided us with some glaze
recipes, too!  We held the meeting
in the new Peekskill Clay Studio.
Thanks, Connie for an enlightening
discussion!

April Meeting, 2011:  Ariel Plantz, Community Outreach
Coordinator, CAC
Ariel tends to work on a large scale, working with clay to produce sculptural
forms which serve as a "canvas" for her artistic expression.  She also uses
these large forms to experiment with glaze surfaces and color.  The form in
the foreground of the pics was actually a "glaze test piece" for her.  She is
also involved in putting together clay hands from children in the community
surrounding CAC to be installed on the outside surface of the Clay Art Center.
