The Empty Vessel, Inc.

For me, my sculptural clay work is a process of the self
expressing the unseen. The vessels presented are born as
expressions of my thought without my conscious planning
of the final form. They begin as wheel thrown forms that are
then cut apart into segments and reassembled. The resulting
forms are representative aspects of my ego's masks or pos-
turing  I assume, or characters I become in the act of living
and are titled accordingly.

The surface treatment is also about the process. It is repre-
sentative of the way in which our daily routines give solace
to our lives. The weaving patterns and the rope are symbols
of the ties that bind and of the connection between our
hands' works and our heart's health.
